Chattanooga: Lookouts edge Francoeur, Mississippi

PEARL, Miss. — Travis Wood allowed just two hits and one run in six innings and Sean Henry doubled twice as the Chattanooga Lookouts spoiled Jeff Francoeur’s return to Mississippi with a 5-4 Southern League baseball win Friday night.

Francoeur had two hits for the Braves and scored the game’s first run in the fourth inning on a double to right field by Kala Kaaihue, but he grounded out against Carlos Fisher to end the game and a mini-Braves rally.

With the game tied 1-1 in the seventh, Henry doubled to center and quickly scored when he stole third and came home on J.C. Boscan’s throwing error. Another Henry double to center in the eighth scored Justin Turner and Eric Eymann to give the Lookouts a 5-1 lead. The win made them 8-9 in the second half of the season.

James Avery (5-5, 4.81 ERA) is scheduled to start the second game of the series tonight for the Lookouts, with Tommy Hanson (4-3, 4.25) scheduled for the Braves.
